homeschooling moon children

when I started this account on IG it was my girls resale closet page. a page that sat empty for about a year because I shifted selling to facebook groups. one year into homeschooling I was like I need to unclog my personal (ohrummy) and shift all this content. I mean honestly some people have no interest and I understand that, I mean I don’t want to see 102831 photos of your food, dog or outfit. As it is I post a ton of photos my girls, my husband, our disneyland adventures etc. I couldn’t overwhelm people with “SCHOOL”

so I changed our account to this. but then it was like a name. a name!!! like this felt like naming my child. I felt all this pressure with the pretty feeds, the homestead, coop, homeschooled accounts and thought one day someone was going to sit here and call my kid just like they do my IG, so I thought about it (maybe too hard). I already named my business after the girls middle names “raine+skye” so I couldn’t repeat it. So I wrote things out on paper like all over to the point I was like HomeSchoolingElderAfter. Like ehh.

I just sat on it and with our longing to connect the girls to the earth, the fact we did moon rituals every full moon (I’ll elaborate on another post) I had to do something with Earth/Nature.

The girls have a deep connection for my grandfather who passed away a few years ago and his last name is “Luna” thats spanish for Moon. When he passed away they were small and understood but to what extent I didnt really grasp. So I told them to always look to the night sky and they will see their “Papa Window” beaming at them. So every night the girls would look to the sky to greet him. Its then it clicked “I’m homeschooling moon children!” I’m raising girls to respect the earth, to appreciate all of nature and appreciate the moon and its affect on earth. The moon is so important to the earth and just like my grandfather is to them.

“HomeschoolingMoonChildren” is an ode to my grandfather who I love and miss. May he beam down on us and be proud of my girls.
