Celebrate the 2024 Olympics with Exciting Family Activities and Snacks

The Olympics! I can’t even express my excitement over these games! Every 4 Years since I was a child (the 1996 Games in Atlanta I remember) and can recall these games I’ve watched and waited. Nothing like it being too hot to go outside during the day so you turn on the TV to catch the Summer Games. Getting lost in the World coming together to compete it’s the best experience.

I know many tune into the World Cup, Super Bowl, or something else but for me its the OLYMPICS!!!! The girls first olympics was in 2016 Rio de Janiero, do they remember absolutely not! But I still celebrate for them and have them sit and watch with us. It’s the memories and I show them videos and photos and they love it. It wasn’t until the 202o (2021) Tokyo that I decided to make it this huge event for the girls! If you’ve been here long enough you remember my mini guide and post (another here). So to make this the event monumental we needed snacks! I went searching for “Olympic Theme Food” and oh man that was hard to locate. I can source some Reese’s and M&M’s but the pickings were slim. I should’ve went and raided the entire 4th of July goodies a reminder for the next games in 4 years! Made a List on Amazon if you want to grab some things.

Well the girls are older now and really excited to hear and watch all about it. They love asking Jeff and I what we remember? Who was the best? What we like to watch? And if you didn’t know Jeff and I ran track so that’s our absolute favorite among other things. I made a guide in the past that was mini and I went ahead and added some more to it. I encourage you to download our Olympic Games Guide and use it!

If you do use it tag us! Use the hashtag #OLYMPICS24hsmc || Show us how you’re celebrating the games! Keep track of the World Medals, do some research together, or the best yet do some handwork together as a family! Kids love to create and what better way then some finger knitting to make a “Olive Crown” a way of paying homage to the ancient games.

I hope this mini guide will not only inspire you and your kids. But that you make memories every 4 years and watch the world come together. Nothing better than sharing in a moment of peace among the world while winning the Gold!

xx,
Rosemary
